Artifacts are pieces from the creative process of an artist, preserved on the blockchain and collectible on Ensemble.
A unique, non-fungible token that exists on the blockchain. NFTs belong to contracts. On Ensemble, Artifacts are preserved as NFTs.
Minting occurs when an artist puts an artifact on a blockchain. After minting, the record of that artifact remains, and certain details cannot be changed.
Editions are artifacts with a finite number of identical versions.
In an ‘Open Edition’ any number can be collected for a specific amount of time, after this the quantity is capped.
1/1s or One of Ones, are artifacts with only one version, which can have only one owner.
On Ensemble, contracts or smart contracts contain artifacts. Contracts can contain include either 1/1s or editions, but not both.
Projects are groups of artifacts from an artist.
On Ensemble, collections can have two contracts within them, in the case that there are both editions and 1/1s.
